70th Anniversary of Luang Phor Hong

The founder of Wat Ananda Metyarama is Venerable Luang Phor Hong Dhammaratana (Phra Dhammaratana Bandit). He came to Singapore in 1920 with his disciple, Samanera Boonler. Upon noticing that there is no Theravada temple in Singapore at that time, they aspired to build one. Venerable Luang Phor Hong Dhammaratana passed away on 10th November 1952 and was cremated on 16th November 1952 by Thai Consul’s General PhrayaSrisayamcit with Thai Groups.

位于惹兰武吉美拉的泰国阿南陀寺 Wat Ananda Metyarama 是由 Luang Phor Hong Dhammaratana 的弟子 Samanera Boonla 建立的。他们两位于 1920年来新加坡，当时得知这里没有南传寺院，就希望建造一座，终于 1925年完成。老法师 Luang Phor Hong Dhammaratana 在 1952年11月10日去世，由泰国大使馆负责人和泰国团在16日火化。
